Getting Started
Best practices.
Choose the tools and views that match what you want to explore.
If your tools are already set up, open the view you need and check the selected symbol, expiry scope, and data timestamp.
- Check the update schedule when comparing TradingView indicators with the WebApp. TradingView indicators receive about five scheduled updates on a weekday, approximately 6:40–6:50 AM, 9:40–9:50 AM, 12:40–12:50 PM, 2:40–2:50 PM, and 3:40–3:50 PM ET. A scheduled update may take a few minutes to appear on the chart. WebApp analytics refresh about once a minute from 6:40 AM to 4:00 PM ET on weekdays. Spot prices stream separately in real time while the live feed is available.
- Explore same-day expiry analytics in the WebApp, or use
/gex0for a lookup in Discord. Check the data timestamps when comparing these views with a TradingView indicator. Use Manual Override to copy current WebApp levels into the matching TradingView indicator view. - Use Options Screener to sort and filter analytics, GEX Matrix to compare expirations, and Options Overlay PRO to display metrics on your chart. Use Options Oscillator PRO when you want to view volatility metrics over time in a separate pane.
- Use Discord bot commands for quick analytics lookups on your phone. For example,
/gex SPXreturns a static GEX image in Discord. - Use the learning guides to identify
HVL,C1, andP1and understand what their labels mean. The reading order is Step 5. - Treat a level as context. It does not say to buy, sell, or size a position.
- One account, one TradingView username, one Discord user. Sharing the login breaks the terms.
