Getting Started · Step 5
Keep learning.
Explore the guides and exercises below, or start with the platform tutorials in the Video Academy.
What you need
For the chart exercises, use GEX Live Chart or GEX Profile PRO on a supported symbol. The examples below use SPX.
Seven learning topics
Work through these seven topics at your own pace. Read the guides and try the chart exercises that match the tools you use.
- Why dealers hedge, then what GEX is and is not.
HVL. LocateHVLand observe whether the displayed spot price is above or below it.- Call and put walls. Find
C1andP1on the same chart. - Misconceptions. Compare the guide with what you have learned so far.
- A daily reading workflow on SPX. Follow the steps in the guide, record your observations, and compare them with a later snapshot.
- Regime context. This is about the market environment, not an entry.
- If you use both TradingView and the WebApp, open GEX Profile PRO and GEX Live Chart for the same symbol and expiry view. Compare the displayed levels, then check the update times before you interpret any difference.
What you'll learn
These exercises help you identify HVL, C1, and P1, understand their labels, and compare the analytics shown in TradingView and the WebApp.

PRO member sessions
On regular U.S. trading days, members can join a premarket SPX session at approximately 8:00 AM ET, followed by a post-close recap. Holidays and special sessions can move the schedule. Check Video sessions to confirm today.

Ambassador interviews
The interview playlist has more conversations than the two examples below. The channel home is YouTube @TanukiTrade.
Another example: Chris Creamer is a TanukiTrade Ambassador and the July 2026 monthly Robbins Cup Micro Day Trading champion. In Futures trading with GEX he explains how market structure, footprint, and TanukiTrade GEX fit into his futures workflow. Individual championship result. Not typical, not a performance promise, and not financial advice.
Written GEX explainers are on blog.tanukitrade.com. The weekly letter is the TanukiTrade Substack.
Questions and troubleshooting
- The chart and the WebApp disagree. Confirm that both tools use the same symbol and expiry view. Check the displayed update times before comparing values. During the session, use the WebApp or paste current levels with Manual Override.
- Video sessions will not open. They require a signed-in Member Area session. The public YouTube links above do not.
- You want a shorter starting point. Start with the first two topics: dealer hedging, GEX, and
HVL. - A term is still unclear. Ask in
newbies-n-basicsand include the term, guide, or feature you need help with.
