Getting Started
Choose your path.
Choose the path that matches how you trade, research, or build. Each path suggests a starting point, and you can explore other tools at your own pace.
Swing analysis
Who this is for. Use this path to explore volatility, skew, and options-derived structure across expirations.
GEX Profile setting. In GEX Profile PRO, the Gamma profile to expiry setting controls the expiry scope. First shows the nearest available expiry. First Monthly and Optimal Monthly (around 60 days to expiration) are the monthly views for exploring later expirations. Every Expiry shows the combined view across available expirations.
First day
- Complete the account and login steps, then follow Add the indicators.
- For example, open SPX in GEX Profile PRO and compare the available expiry views. Enable Scale price chart only to keep distant indicator levels from rescaling the candles.
- Read the GEX guide and
HVL& walls guide, then locateHVLon the chart. - Open GEX Matrix in the WebApp for the same symbol. It shows several expirations at once.
First week
- Explore Options Overlay PRO for IV rank, the expiry table, delta curves, and the Murrey grid.
- Use Options Oscillator PRO to view IV rank, IVx, and skew over time.
- Explore Options Screener PRO on the chart, or use the WebApp Options Screener to sort and filter. WebApp analytics refresh every minute during update hours. Options Screener PRO follows the five scheduled daily updates.
- Add GEX History PRO when you want to see how the gamma state has changed across expirations.
- Find product help and educational resources in the Discord community. Use GEX bots in the designated bot channels.
Intraday analysis
Who this is for. Use this path to explore current options analytics and how the displayed structure changes during the session.
GEX Profile setting. The First option under Gamma profile to expiry displays the nearest available expiration. It shows a same-day expiry when one is available for the selected symbol. Monthly views and Every Expiry are also available for comparing expiry scopes.
First day
- If you also use TradingView, open SPX or the mapped
/ESchart in GEX Profile PRO as an example of the nearest-expiry view. Enable Scale price chart only. - Open GEX Live Table or GEX Live Chart. WebApp analytics refresh every minute from 6:40 AM to 4:00 PM ET on weekdays. Spot prices stream in real time while the live feed is available. TradingView indicators receive five scheduled daily updates, so the displayed analytics may differ between updates.
- In the Discord bot channel, try
/gex0 SPXas an example of a GEX lookup. See GEX bots for the command reference.
First week
- Add 0DTE EM Box PRO and open expected move in the WebApp. The box is a range the options market is pricing, not a target.
- See Manual Override for copying current levels from the WebApp into the matching TradingView view, or use Discord
/levels. - Explore GEX Matrix to compare expirations, Options Screener to filter instruments, Options Overlay PRO for on-chart metrics, and Options Oscillator PRO for volatility time series. You can customize which panels are visible in your chart layout.
- The examples use SPX, SPY, QQQ, and mapped futures such as
/ESfrom SPX and/NQfrom QQQ. You can follow the walkthroughs with other supported symbols when data is available for the selected view.
API and MCP
Who this is for. Connect your apps and AI agents to TanukiTrade's derived options analytics through the REST API or MCP.
API and MCP access are included with PRO.
You do not need to connect Discord or add TradingView indicators to use the REST API or MCP.
Copy your personal API key from the signed-in API Access page. Use it to authenticate REST API and MCP requests. The product page is tanukitrade.com/gex-rest-api.
First day
- Follow the five-minute quickstart. The API overview lists every route after that.
- If you are building an agent, follow the MCP connection guide.
First week
- If you also use the WebApp, compare an API value with the same symbol and expiry in GEX Live Chart to understand the response.
- Use REST API or MCP for automated requests. Discord slash commands are intended for interactive use.
- You can also explore the swing and intraday guides when you want to view the analytics on a chart.
