/ES and /NQ take their levels from SPX and QQQ.

Futures and spot proxies often do not have the cleanest options book of their own. The scripts compute gamma on a liquid chain, then draw the levels in the price of the chart you opened.

The map

Supported underlying mappings table showing futures, metals, crypto, and CFD symbols mapped to their source U.S. options chains.
Futures mappingSupported underlying mappingsA visual overview of how supported futures (/ES, /MES, /NQ, /MNQ, /YM, /MYM, /RTY, /M2K), metals (/GC, /MGC, /SI, XAUUSD, XAGUSD), crypto pairs (BTCUSD, BTCUSDT, ETHUSD, ETHUSDT), and SPX/NDX CFD aliases map to their underlying U.S. options chains.

Micros are aliases of the parent future. /MES and /ES share the structure. The difference is the contract you trade, not a second gamma calculation.

Mini-SPX (XSP) also maps from the SPX profile at a fixed 0.1 scale, and supported S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 CFD aliases route to their corresponding index profile (SPX or NDX), converted into the chart’s price scale.

Scope across indicators: GEX Profile PRO, Options Overlay PRO, Options Oscillator PRO, and GEX History PRO use this full map. 0DTE Expected Move Box PRO uses the same map except XSP. In Options Screener PRO, mapping applies only to the GEX Profile cell (IVR, IVx, and skew stay on the listed U.S. options underlying) and does not include /MYM, /M2K, BTCUSDT, ETHUSDT, XSP, or CFD aliases.

What to type

The front-month symbol to ask for is /ES1 or /NQ1. Charts are often opened as /ES or /NQ. Those short names can resolve, and the levels are still the mapped ones. When you want the Tanuki symbol with no ambiguity, use the 1 suffix. Back-month contracts are not covered.

What this is not

These are not native futures-options levels. /ES levels are SPX positioning, rescaled into the futures price. Walls, HVL, and the shape of the book come from that chain. A few ticks of basis between the future and the cash index are normal, especially outside the cash session.

The front month rolls only after confirmed end-of-day volume, on the following session. The conversion is a daily snapshot. The futures price on the chart can still move live.

No mapped gamma

/CL, /NG, bond futures, and currency futures are not mapped. The options books are thin or built differently from the equity chains the levels are tuned for. Back months are out as well. The Murrey grid inside Options Overlay PRO does not need an options chain, so that grid can still sit on those charts. The gamma levels will not.

/ES after the cash close

When SPX is closed, there is no same-day chain left to map. For the rest of the /ES session, switch the script off First expiry and onto the next expiry. See how gamma is read for the idea behind the levels, separate from the mapping.

Manual override works on a mapped chart. A paste of the SPX family can match /ES, /MES, and XSP.
