TradingView FAQ.
Answers to common questions about invite-only access, chart setup, data updates, mapped symbols, and indicator behavior.
Do I need a paid TradingView plan to use the PRO indicators?
No. You can use the Invite-only PRO indicators with a free TradingView account. Your TradingView plan only controls how many indicators can stay active on one chart at the same time. If a template on Chart layouts includes more indicators than your TradingView plan allows on a single chart, you can hide or remove any indicator you do not need.
I subscribed, why are the PRO indicators not in Invite-only?
Confirm that you are signed in to the TradingView account whose profile URL slug (tradingview.com/u/YOUR_USERNAME/) matches the username on your TanukiTrade account—do not use your display name. Access usually appears within a few minutes after checkout, and can take up to 15 minutes. If 15 minutes have passed, sign out of TradingView and sign back in, then check Indicators → Invite-only. To update a stored TradingView username, contact support. Full steps are on Access and setup.
Why does an indicator show an “invalid access” error?
Confirm that your TanukiTrade trial or subscription is active and that you are signed in to the matching TradingView account. If your membership is active and the error persists after signing out of TradingView and signing back in, contact support so your invite-only grant can be refreshed.
Why are my price candles compressed or flat after adding an indicator?
Distant gamma walls, forward curves, or Murrey levels can expand the vertical axis if the indicator shares the price scale. Right-click the right-hand price scale on TradingView and enable Scale price chart only.
Which expiry setting should I choose in GEX Profile PRO?
Under Gamma profile to expiry, choose First for the nearest available expiration (including same-day 0DTE when available), First Monthly or Optimal Monthly (around 60 DTE) for multi-day and swing structure, or Every Expiry for the combined profile across all available expirations. See GEX Profile PRO.
Are there ready-made Swing and Day-trading chart layouts I can copy?
Yes. Open Chart layouts for ready-made Swing and Day-trading templates in both dark and light themes, along with a breakdown of which indicators each template includes.
How often do the indicators update, and why can they differ from the WebApp?
TradingView indicators receive about five scheduled updates per U.S. trading day: approximately 6:40–6:50 AM, 9:40–9:50 AM, 12:40–12:50 PM, 2:40–2:50 PM, and 3:40–3:50 PM ET. Delivery to the chart may take a few minutes. WebApp analytics refresh about once a minute from 6:40 AM to 4:00 PM ET on weekdays, and spot prices stream separately in real time while the live feed is available. When comparing values, match the symbol and expiry view and hover over the HVL label to check the snapshot timestamp. See the update schedule.
Can I get current WebApp levels onto my chart between scheduled updates?
Yes. Copy levels from the WebApp or run /levels in Discord, then paste the string into the Manual Override field in GEX Profile PRO → Settings → Inputs. See Manual override.
Why did Manual Override show 📋💤 or 📋❌, or fail to copy?
📋💤 means the scheduled snapshot on your chart is already newer than or equal to the pasted data. 📋❌ means the pasted string does not include the symbol or expiry scope currently selected on your chart. If copying to the clipboard fails in Safari, use Chrome, Firefox, or Edge, or download the /levels text output from Discord.
The indicator is on my chart, why is nothing displayed?
Check four common causes: confirm the symbol is on the supported TanukiTrade watchlist; enable Scale price chart only; bring the indicator to the front via More → Visual order → Bring to front if candles cover the labels; and if you are on a 1-minute chart before the first scheduled update, switch to a 2-minute or higher timeframe.
What is Lite, and does it upgrade into PRO automatically?
Each PRO indicator has a free, public Lite version on TradingView. Lite and PRO are separate scripts—Lite does not automatically turn into PRO when you subscribe. Once your PRO access is active, add the PRO indicators from Indicators → Invite-only and remove the Lite script from your chart. Four Lite scripts run live on DIA, AAPL, AMZN, TSLA, and ORCL, while 0DTE Expected Move Box Lite and GEX History Lite have historical preview limits. See PRO and Lite.
Does this work on /ES, /NQ, and micro futures?
Yes, as a mapped view. /ES and /MES are scaled from SPX options; /NQ and /MNQ are scaled from QQQ options; /YM and /MYM map from DIA; and /RTY and /M2K map from IWM. In the WebApp and API, front-month futures use the 1 suffix (such as /ES1 and /NQ1). Energy (/CL, /NG), bond, and currency futures, as well as back-month contracts, are not mapped. See Futures mapping.
What about gold, silver, crypto, CFDs, or forex pairs?
Gold (/GC, /MGC, XAUUSD) maps from GLD, and silver (/SI, XAGUSD) maps from SLV. Bitcoin (BTCUSD, BTCUSDT) and Ethereum (ETHUSD, ETHUSDT) map from IBIT and ETHA. Mini-SPX (XSP) and supported S&P 500 / Nasdaq-100 CFD aliases map from SPX and NDX. Spot forex pairs have no listed U.S. options chain behind them and do not display gamma levels, though the Murrey grid in Options Overlay PRO can still be used. See Futures mapping.
Why did 0DTE levels on /ES stop updating after 4:00 PM ET?
The underlying SPX options session closes at 4:00 PM ET, so there is no active same-day chain left to map for the overnight futures session. Switch GEX Profile PRO from First to the next available expiry for the rest of the session.
Why do levels or curves look incomplete on a weekly or monthly chart?
Weekly (1W) and monthly (1M) charts skip mid-week expiration dates, so the scripts cannot align every expiration on the time axis. Use a daily (1D) or shorter timeframe.
Why do Renko or Heikin Ashi charts show gaps or shifted levels?
Non-standard chart types alter bar closes or the time axis. Use standard time-based candles for accurate options-level placement.
Can I set TradingView alerts on these indicators?
No. Multi-expiry gamma profiles and dynamic tables do not map to TradingView's alert engine. For on-demand lookups and feed updates, use /gex0, /gex, /matrix, and spx-0dte-feed in Discord.
Is HVL the same as a traditional gamma flip?
No. HVL (High Volatility Level) is the high-volatility inflection point on the cumulative net gamma curve (drawn in turquoise in GEX Profile PRO), where price behavior often transitions between more dampened and more volatile regimes. See the HVL guide.
Is there an API or MCP server for these analytics?
Yes. Your PRO membership includes access to the REST API and MCP server for derived options analytics (gamma profiles, key levels, expected move, volatility, and screener data). Find your personal API key in your WebApp account and start at the API overview.
Still need help? Check Where to get help or Technical troubleshooting, and include the symbol, expiry view, and HVL snapshot timestamp when reporting an issue.
